Architecture is a business and a blend of science of building with the art of design in which technical knowledge, management, and an understanding of business are as important as design. The architect participates in developing the requirements the client wants in the building. Throughout the project (planning to occupancy), the architect co-ordinates a design team. Electrical engineers and other specialists are hired by the architect, who must ensure that the work is coordinated to construct the design. Many people still perceive architectural services to be a luxury, an unnecessary added expense to the project. Unfortunately, this attitude is the primary culprit for the lack of imagination. The architect pays for his own way through the several selections, design, construction document, bidding and negotiation and construction phases of a project. In each phase, an architect’s input can save owner’s money and/or add value to the project.
During the selection phase, an architect can help the owner visualize several possible design solutions to realize the full potential of a building. Through his analysis, he can show the pluses and minuses of each aspect regarding the social, natural, legal and build factors.
The architect’s role is to make plans, 3D for inside and outside, animations if needed, and build the whole image of the project to help client do any changes they like before start of construction.
